Annie Leibovitz

A Moncler Icelandic Fairytale

For her second collaboration with Moncler, iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz created a real fairy tale that has become the Moncler FW15 campaign. There is no better photographer than Leibovitz when it comes to create a mysterious, enchanting atmosphere in pictures, as she always captures the essence of a story, often in front of mesmerizing backgrounds. For this campaign, Leibovitz and the Moncler team went to the South-East of Iceland to tell the story inspired by Russian folklore and Nordic sagas. The references to the greats novels by J.R.R Tolkien as well as Hans Christian Andersen’s Snow Queen come through. Models – and real-life siblings – Lucky Blue Smith and Pyper Smith help create a story of love, an allegoric journey through space and time and the finding of oneself. Key element of the Moncler identity, nature plays the lead role of this campaign, as we discover it icy and cold at the beginning of the journey, then blossoming towards the end, showing the firsts signs of a beautiful Spring.
